ABSTRACT:
An antifeedant saponin has been isolated from the seeds of Barringtonia asiatica and its structure elucidated mainly by two dimensional NMR spectroscopy to be 3-O-{[?-D-galactopyranosyl(1?3)-?-D-glucopyranosyl(1?2)]-?-D-glucuronopyranosyloxy}-22-O-[2-methylbutyroyloxy]-16, 28-dihydroxy-(3?,16?,22?)-olean-12-ene.
