ABSTRACT:
In these study, a series of N-(substituted phenylimino)-N'-(5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)benzamidine (3a-3j) were synthesized from corresponding Schiff base of thiadiazole which was coupled with various aryl diazonium chloride in pyridine produced N-(substituted phenylimino)-N'-(5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)benzamidine (3a-3j). The structures of the synthesized compounds were determined by IR, 1HNMR. The compounds synthesized were screened for anticonvulsant and neurotoxicity activity. Some of the synthesized compounds exhibited prominent anticonvulsant activity.
