ABSTRACT:
A Simple and Precise HPLC method was developed for the estimation of Ibuprofen and Pseudoephedrine in pure and pharmaceutical dosage forms. The quantification was carried out using a Xterra RP18 column 4.6 mm X 100 mm i.d, 3.5 µm particle size in isocratic mode, with mobile phase compressing of buffer and acetonitrile in the ratio of 70:30 (v/v) pH 7.2. The flow rate was 1.5 mL/min and the detection was carried out by UV detector at 210 nm. The retention times were 6.620 and 10.255 min for Pseudoephedrine and Ibuprofen, respectively. The method produced linear response at the concentration range of 62-180 ppm for Ibuprofen and 12-36 ppm Pseudoephedrine. The percentage recovery was found to be 99.73 and 100.63% for Ibuprofen and Pseudoephedrine, respectively. The method was validated by evaluation of different parameters.
