ABSTRACT:
The present study describes a simple, accurate, precise and highly sensitive UV-spectrophotometer method for the determination of Telmisartan in pharmaceutical dosage forms. Telmisartan is used for the treatment of hypertension. Absorption maxima of Telmisartan in methanol were found to be at 297nm. Developed method obeyed the Beer’s law in the concentration range of 2-22 µg/ml and regression coefficient was found 0.9999. The results of the tablet analysis were validated with respect to accuracy (recovery), linearity, limit of detection and limit of quantitation were found to be satisfactory.
