ABSTRACT:
An accurate, precise and derivatized HPTLC method has been developed for the simultaneous estimation of Glucosamine, Vitamin C and Vitamin E in tablet formulation. In this method standard and sample solutions of Glucosamine, Vitamin C and Vitamin E were applied on pre-coated silica gel 60F254 TLC plate, and developed using ethanol: Acetic acid (9:1 v/v), as mobile phase and derivatized using Iodine vapor. The drugs on the plate were scanned at 500 nm. The dynamic linearity range was 20-100 µg/spot for Glucosamine, 2 - 10 µg/spot for Vitamin C and 0.2 -1 µg/spot for Vitamin E. The method was validated for precision, accuracy and reproducibility.
