ABSTRACT:
8-Amino-6-chlorocoumarine has been synthesized by multistep synthesis which involves the successive chlorination and nitration of salicylaldehyde. The coumarin was synthesized by using Perkin reaction. The resulting nitro-compound can be reduced to 8-amino-6-chlorocoumarine. This was then diazotized and then coupled with different ß-diketones and ß-ketoesters gives corresponding hydrazones. The hydrazones were cyclized by reacting with hydrazines to get pyrazole and pyrazolone derivatives.
