ABSTRACT:
Accurate, precise, rapid and economical method was developed for the estimation of Cefixime and Ofloxacin in tablet dosage form. The first order derivative spectroscopy wavelengths selected for quantitation were 312. 0 nm for Cefixime (zero cross for Ofloxacin) and 358. 2 nm for Ofloxacin (zero cross for Cefixime). In this method linearity for detector response was observed in the concentration range of 5-40 µg/ml for both Cefixime and Ofloxacin. The proposed method was successfully applied for the simultaneous determination of both drugs in commercial tablet preparation. The results of the analysis have been validated statistically and by recovery studies.
