ABSTRACT:
A simple, precise, accurate and rapid high-performance thin-layer chromatographic method has been developed for the estimation of Rosuvastatin calcium in tablet dosage forms. The stationary phase used was pre-coated silica gel 60 F254. The mobile phase used was a mixture of Acetonitrile: Ethyl Acetate: Toluene (6:1:3 v/v/v). The detection of spots was carried out at 245 nm. The calibration curve was found to be linear between 200ng/spot to 600ng/spot for Rosuvastatin calcium. The limit of detection and the limit of quantification for Rosuvastatin calcium were found to be 5.68ng/spot and 17.22ng/spot. The developed method was also validated .
The method was found to be accurate, precise and reproducible and can be suitably applied for the determination of ROS in different dosage forms.
